Hotvalve is an automatic shut-off valve system designed to block hot water usage throughout the house during Shabbos in full accordance with Halacha (Jewish law).
Using hot water on Shabbos from a water heater leads to the unintended melacha of (bishul) heating fresh cold water. Even accidentally turning on the hot water tap causesnew cold water to enter and be heated, violating Shabbos restrictions. HotValve eliminates this concern entirely by automatically shutting off the hot water line before Shabbos begins, ensuring full compliance without relying on memory or guesswork.
Hotvalve connects to your main hot water line and uses a timer-based or smart scheduling system to shut off the valve before Shabbos starts and reopen it after Shabbos ends—without any manual intervention.
